New Release From the Ion Age

Portable Support Weapons for the Planetary Militia

The Planetary Militia have been getting a lot of cool releases in the last few weeks and this week is no exception. This week we see the release of 6 variants of towed support weaponry to give your PM ground forces some heavy firepower. 

Each of the variants comes with a wheeled carriage and tow bar that will attach to any of the Ion Age vehicles (and I imagine others in your collections as well). The weapons mount in to a simple socket making assembly simple and straight forward. 

Also, in other news, The Ion Age has released movement trays suited to fit the bases and unit sizes for the Patrol Angis rules set. These make moving squads about the table simple and helps keep them in unit coherency. While designed for the Ion Age bases, they would work for any other similarly sized bases.

News From The Ion Age

Planetary Militia 3rd Squad Released

Following on the heels of the release of the Patrol Angis rules, the Planetary Militia are getting another expansion this week with the release of a third squad. IAF071 brings in a new squad equipped for close quarters combat. Armed with assault shotguns, plasma guns and tasers, these soldiers are potent when room gets tights. 

These will be followed by two more Planetary Militia releases next week.

Painted pics from White Dragon Miniatures new Kickstarter 

Mark Stone of White Dragon Miniatures posted this pic of a painted version of one of his Marine Tactical Unit infantry alongside the massive, amazing Proteus Frontline Battle Mech. The render images of these were incredible enough, but this superbly painted example of the machine really shows it as the business.

This mecha, along with the MTU troops and their support Armadillo Support bot are part of a run away Kickstarter that promises some delightful stretch goals including an alternate Proteus with a railgun.

The first packs are now available in an extensive new range of figures that can serve many purposes within your army - with a wide variety of uniforms and headgear, and carrying a mix of various low- to mid-tech weaponry, we’ve called them “Mercs”, but these troops can represent individualistic but highly trained Mercenary units, Special Forces teams or PMCs (Private Military Contractors), or equally be irregular militia, resistance fighters or almost anything else that you want them to be! There is a good mix of male and female troops within the range, and hopefully almost everyone will be able to find a role for a group of these attached to their army, or even as a complete force in their own right.

Every different figure sculpt in this range is highly individual in style, and they also lend themselves perfectly to further customisation with some simple head swaps using our SG15-XH1 and XH2 “head packs”.
