After some feedback and requests, Harold decided to relaunch with new options built-in from the get-go.

Trying Out Grass Tufts for the First Time

I picked up some of the KHG Gamer's Grass tufts from Harold over at ClearHorizon Miniatures and I am very glad I did.

I am not the sort to invest in a lot of special hobby products. I haven't even learned how to use static grass. These little gems, however, may get me to rethink my approach to hobby stuff.

These miniatures were painted and based without the Gamer's Grass but the simple addition of these little tufts to most of the bases lends so much more warmth and depth to the miniatures.

Flaytrap Factory presents Brotherhood of the Fly on YouTube

Hey all,

Since October there has been a new YouTube program put up by Flytrap Trap Factory called "The Brotherhood of the Fly". While not exclusively devoted to 15mm science fiction, this program, hosted by Flytrap Factory's Anton Ducrot, Zombiesmith's Josh Qualtieri, and Jonothan Boen of BoenArrow Sculpture Studio.

The trio of hosts put together a regular 90 minute videocast where they discuss the industry, their craft, their products and all things miniatures. Along the way they have guests from the industry. So far this has included Harold Crossley of ClearHorizon Miniatures and digital sculptor John Bear Ross. Future plans include Arthur Braun of Skullduggery Press as well as myself, Eli Arndt of Loud Ninja Games. Plans exist to continue hosting other smaller independent manufacturers from all ends of the miniatures business and craft.

The HADES Wraith team is the advanced combat squad of the Hunter/Ambush Discreet Engagement Section. Each Wraith Powered Armor suit contains advanced stealth systems that allow the Wraith team to infiltrate almost any target undetected.  Wraith teams can also survive hard vacuum and dangerous environments for extended periods of time, making them ideal for infiltration deep behind enemy lines or sabotage missions aboard enemy spacecraft.

Each Wraith team member in their armor stands approx. 12 feet tall and carries either a standard Mk 14 60mm directed energy railgun or a squad support Scythe 180mm directed energy railgun. Either advanced railgun accelerates a variable-formed nano-tech projectile up to 4500 m/s and can be used in anti-personnel, anti-vehicle or anti-structure roles.

The HADES Wraith team is able to be dropped from high orbit and, using an advanced jump pack, transverse great distances without on-planet vehicle or aircraft support.

As each Wraith Powered Armor suit must be controlled via a direct neural link and nerve wiring, Wraith team members are extensively modified. Each limb has been cybernetically replaced and extends inside the suit openings, connecting via hardened cables. The operator is able to exit the suit if it becomes damaged and the cybernetic limbs will automatically retract to a more standard size.

A personal rifle along with other survival supplies are stored in the back of the suit to ensure the operator has a weapon and supplies available if the suit becomes inoperable.

Each HADES Wraith Squad comes with (6) 15mm scaled (approx. 22mm tall) powered armor miniatures in three poses (one with a heavy support weapon), (6) separate heads and (6) separate jump packs.

Tasked with scouting enemy positions and hit-and-run missions the Hell Diver Recon Squad is equipped with Cyclone-Class Deep Infil motorcycles. The Cyclone-Class is capable of extended operations and has a range of over 1000 km. Its high-capacity batteries can be charged by burning any local fuel and by solar exposure.  They also contain compartments for foodstuffs, supplies, and ammunition.  The tire on the Cyclone are state-of-the-art nano-materials able to adapt to any surface almost instantly and allows for high-performance on and off-road travel.

The entire squad are drop-capable as the Cyclone has been designed to fold while in transit and to be quickly deployed out of the standard HEL/DIV Drop Pod.

The Hell Diver Recon Squad comes with four Cyclone-class motorcycles (three with lower torsos and legs attached and one rider-free motorcycle), three Hell Diver upper bodies and a sprue of Hell Diver rifles.

Humanity has spread throughout the cosmos and often upon worlds that, while similar, are different in fundamental ways from our own.  On the larger rocky planets with a habitable biome colonies can form and flourish over a period of many years.  Those that do the best and prosper on the high-gravity worlds tend to be stockier and hardier than their brethren on standard-class gravity worlds.

This squad of eight (8) veteran mercs hail from a high-gravity world and have a proven track record as evidence of their toughness. Each figure tells a story and exudes character.

 The Apocalypse-class superheavy tank is designed as a deep-space all-in-one peacekeeping solution.
