Khurasan's Itu'a aliens preview...

From TMP:

Some great looking new, beautifully painted, aliens previewed by Khurasan Miniatures:

You already know the Itu'a Immortals -- aka the Stikk Assault Crabs. Now meet the Itu'a Myriads, endless swarms of smaller Itu'a with long rifles, supported by heavy weaponsworms:

And the high command encased in a huge Satrap biomecha (provided with the suit and out of it too):

Group shot:

Still to be revealed -- the enormous Rukh warbeast -- large enough to carry several squads inside its gullet!

Khurasan Miniatures -- complete remake of 15mm Garn reptilian range released!

From: TMP

We're very pleased to announce that we have completely redone our range of 15mm Garn reptilian aliens.

These hulking tyrannosauroid carnivores are sculpted larger so as to have a more appropriately menacing presence on your tabletop, more poses have been made available, and the sets are in more rational allocations.

The new sets are:

Garn warriors with the basic infantry arm, the 20mm assault cannon -- a set of six in six poses (yes, only five are shown -- the sixth pose is in the comparison picture below):

Garn warriors with heavy weapons -- a set of four in four poses (laser cannon, missile launcher, flamethrower and plasma gun):

Garn unit command -- a set of five in three poses (two commanders, two comms specialists, and a single casualty):

Garn Flesheater giant heroes -- these chaps are huge! (one pose with a flamethrower I would not want fired at me at all, and another with a plasma cannon, and we do mean cannon):

Garn hegemon, the aristocratic clan within Garn society (this model is basically the player):

Here's a comparison showing the size of the models against each other and against a human infantryman. Left to right, a Flesheater, the Hegemon, a warrior (the sixth pose not shown in the image above) and a human infantryman.

The Garn are versatile SF models as not only can they be used as towering alien Reptilians in 15mm, but also as human-sized aliens in 20mm gaming as well. And dare we say that the Flesheaters could be used in 28mm gaming? (They are in fact 28mm tall.) Even the rank and file warriors could be useful in 28mm gaming as "The Race" or other smaller reptilians in popular books.

The rapacious, cunning Garn have conquered other predatory sentient races and a selection of these will be released shortly. In fact, their most common slave-warrior race has already been available for some time -- the Felids.

The new Garn are available now, at the link below.

Khurasan previews alien invader Maneuver Element...

Holy....

From: TMP and Modern Warfare

EDIT: It appears this monster of a "miniature" will be $99.99

When the Science Caste could no longer restrain them, the War Caste invaded earth, with the intent of destroying human civilisation. Their main weapons of attack from a strategic perspective were the great "Maneuver Elements," war machines of massive size and unspeakable power….

Khurasan releases Vespulid Maggots

Khurasan Miniatures opens the hatchery and lets loose the Vespulid Maggots...

Our popular Vespulid range of sentient aliens resembling space wasps has just been expanded with a set of Vespulid Maggots, horrible sharp toothed worms that ravenously eat any meat put before them so they can mature into adult form Vespulid Warriors. The maggots are in fact the main reason the warriors launch their assaults on enemy positions -- to gather meat for these horrid larvae. In turn, the byproduct of Maggot digestion is the foodstuff of the adult forms -- a perfect symbiosis.

Many an enemy life form has been shocked into unconsciousness by the Vespulids' ion weaponry, only to awaken deep in the hive to find itself surrounded by approaching ravenous maggots, slowly crawling over on their little chitinous legs as solidly muscular necks stretch out and fearsome teeth flash….

The models are about 16 or 17mm long and there are three body poses. The mouth opening plus teeth is a separate part, also in three variants, so these can be added to any body, giving more pose variety.

We think these would make excellent dungeon lurkers or other fantasy creatures as well.

Available now, at this link -- thanks for looking:

Khurasan previews Thrainite Noble Assault Team

From:  http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=363886

Khurasan Miniatures write:

From ages past the Thrainites have relied on their nobility in heavy armour to undertake the most hazardous assaults, which serves them well in battle to this day, in an age of plasma weapons and space demons. Now, instead of great axes, the nobles carry assault weapons, missile launchers, and DPMGs, and instead of steel armour they are girded with power assist osmium armour….

Just waiting for one more figure to be painted, and at last the Thrainites can be released!

Been looking forward to this range a while!

Khurasan releases Zantin Scutari for "Zantin Reconquest"

From: The Miniatures Page

Khurasan Miniatures writes:

We are very pleased to expand our 15mm Zantin Reconquest range with the release of the Zantin Scutari -- the heavily armoured infantry of the resurgent Zantin Empire. Unlike the tumultuous GOTA infantry forces, the Zantin Scutari are heavily armoured, superbly disciplined and trained, and fighting in the ranks of regiments with histories that date back thousands of years.

We are releasing three codes today…

Zantin Scutari with plasma rifles

Zantin Scutari with the fusion gun (the infantry's primary defence against grav tank attack)

Zantin Scutari Centurions and casualty

All are available now, at this link:

As with the GOTA Clans, if these are well-received we will certainly make more. Thanks for looking.

What's New in Fantasy

While science fiction still seems to be flooding into the universe, there have been some great new releases and some notable re-releases for 15mm science fiction.

GIANTS
Splintered Light, Khurasan,  and 15mm.co.uk have released some nice giants.

Splintered Light has added two new Frost Giants to its existing range of giants. These are classic fantasy monsters of the sort that would have poured from classic modules G2 Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl or a Frazetta painting.

Meanwhile, 15mm.co.uk has re-released a good ol' miniature from their Tabletop range. The might Fire Giant shows off old school charm and a host of rich nostalgic detailing. A great classic piece of fantasy encounter.

ADVENTURERS
15mm.co.uk has also re-released an amazing assortment of adventurers and other characters. Available in several sets or in one large collection assortment you will find male, female, warriors and wizard characters among others.

UNDEAD
Khurasan Miniatures has expanded their undead range by adding lesser skeleton warriors to boost the forces of the walking dead. These skeletons are wonderfully detailed and depict more common warriors clad in armor and weapons.

picture

LIZARDMEN
Splintered Light has released their lizardmen in both warband and Might Armies army forms. These figures are very classic in their depiction of a staple antagonists of the fantasy genre

Khurasan Miniatures New Release: "Khurasan releases the most useful 15mm figures...ever"

Available from: http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/modern.html

Or are they? Well, that's our story and we're sticking with it!

They were originally made as rage zombies, but then looking at the sculpts it occurred to us just how infernally versatile they are! Amongst the additional uses they are suitable for:
1) Rioters
2) Runners-away from aliens/zombies/criminals/foreign invaders
3) Looters
4) Revolutionaries

Are there still more uses? Probably…. Anyway, to help you along with them as rioters or other street fighters, we have included three sprues in each set, each of which has a brick and a molotov cocktail, so they can be glued into the hands of the models as improvised weapons.

We've done ten unique poses, but as you can see as long as you (carefully) bend the arms, you can get many more pose variations out of them.

Available now, here:

Painted by Steve Dean -- soon Steve will be modifying the rioter paintjob and removing the weapons to demonstrate show how they'll look as Rage Zombies.

Fantastic Horizon: Khurasan Miniatures releases 15mm Lizardman savages

For more information: http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=358572

We are very pleased to release our range of 15mm Lizardman savages. These are the primitive barbarous reptilian tribesmen well known from popular fantasy gaming and literature, physically larger than humans and with crude weapons supplementing their already-fearsome jaws.

We are releasing three packs of these brutes. The first pack is Lizardmen with hand weapons in six poses, all provided with separate shields:

To support these or mix in with the warband are six poses of Lizardmen with spears, also all provided with separate shields (although most are shown here without so as to demonstrate the poses):

To lead the tribes to war we have command -- a chieftain, witchdoctor, standardbearer and drummer:

Sculpted by Mike Broadbent, painted by Andy Taylor.

Khurasan Miniatures Releases Nova Respublik Drakon and Grifon vehicles and Previews the NF USMC infantry and Columbiad heavy droid!

By Harold

Khurasan Miniatures has released two new great Sci-Fi vehicle sets, each with both tank and grav options:

We are very pleased to release the next generation of armoured warfare for our 15mm Nova Respublik range, the Drakon tank and Grifon IFV.

Built to supplement the vast fleets of Red Banner tanks and Hedgehog IFVs, these vehicles represent a significant step forward in technology, matching that of federal vehicles.

The base tank, the Drakon-T, may be armed with either a plasma gun or a railgun and has a robot self defence system to protect it from both close assault and missiles.
Still experimental but fielded in one company, the Drakon-G is the first Nova vehicle to employ grav tech, copied from captured Federal vehicles.

To provide vital infantry support to the new tanks, the Grifon IFV, a development of the Drakon hull, can carry a full squad of infantry and has a rapid fire mini-railgun for anti-personnel or light anti-tank work. Against heavier targets it may have disposable missile boxes added to the flanks.

The experimental Grifon-G employs the same grav propulsion system as the Drakon-G and these vehicles support the Grav tanks in battle.

For all of the above vehicles, platoon sets are available at a discount. The models were designed by Steve Tyler. Our own dwartist provided the amazing paint jobs -- thanks David!
These are available now, comrades, at the link below.
http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/15mmscifi.html

And Khurasan has previewed these awesome upcoming kits, the Columbiad Heavy Droid and  NF USMC  Infantry with an incredible paint job:

Amazing job. You won't be able to make it out when the image is resized but Duff has actually painted the impression of a face on the visor, it's jawdropping.
He'll be painting the rest once he has some other jobs out of the way and then these and the Columbiad heavy droid will be released together.

Looking foward to seeing these awesome kits released soon!

Dropzonetoe's New GOTA Combat Walker

By Eli
Original post by Dropzonetoe

Fellow TMPer and miniatures gamer Dropzonetoe posted this amazing conversion of a Gundam action figure into a rather amazing piece of kit for his 15mm GOTA forces. The GOTA are a cool hard scifi force from Khurasan Miniatures which he has already supplemented with robots and drones from Ground Zero Games. Dropzonetoe doesn't keep a blog, so I am not able to link you there, but I can offer this link to the TMP story - HERE.

picture
Dark and moody photo taken initially. Looks like the units is moving out for night ops.

So, I know converting action figures into gaming stuff isn't new, but Dropzonetoe really accomplished something pretty amazing with this one. If you look at the bright, big-headed, 1980s anime war machine he started with and then what it became, you can really see how effective a few little bits of conversion are.

picture

Dropzonetoe has this to say about the project...
I did break the antenna off the top within a few miniatures of handling it. It is a rubbery material but it took to a spray of Krylon spray-paint just fine After painting the torso I painted the arms separately. They are simple plugs and pull off easily. The gun armed hand is the same way.

I just added a dab of E6000 to all the joints and left it to dry a bit.
Seeing as it had a single cycloptic eye, I wanted to tie it in with my GZG drones and Robots. So, I painted it the same red eye and added rolls of camo netting to the top of it.

Khurasan Miniatures releases Federal Army VITROs

By Harold

Two different squads available at Khurasan Miniatures for $5.99 each.

Khurasan Miniatures has released a set of two new squads, Federal Army VITROs.

Federal Army VITROs

Vitros are human clone soldiers who are organised into platoons and then attached to Federal divisions at the company level as needed before or during battle.  They are folded into the company’s command structure, usually one platoon being added to bolster the company.

Vitros are bred in large processing facilities, genetically modified so that they reach adulthood in two years.  This rapid growth comes at a price -- they begin to age beyond optimal combat service at about age 18 and usually reach mortality at about age 22.  (Vitro age is measured starting with separation from the development chamber.) As they do not have parents they bond instead with their instructors, who teach them combat methods and some basic interpersonal skills so that they can cooperate with their in utero fellow soldiers.

Vitros have been bred by the Federation as soldiers for over three centuries but the programme was only put into full effect during the First Pelagic War, due to the dire need for soldiers at the time.  Since then the moral implications have been trumped by continuing combat demands, but there is still an active anti-Vitro political movement, particularly at the Federal Core, the outlying systems being more in favour of the military cloning programme.

Vitros are the best infantry in the Federal Army – they have enhanced senses and are physically superior to in uteros, and are trained for combat virtually from the day they separate.  They are provided with distinctive armour and weapons to take advantage of their exceptional performance (and to clearly indicate that they are Vitros), the most unusual feature being the multi-lens combat helmet which gives the Vitro warrior a somewhat strange, alien appearance.  They are raised to obey and often do, but they are human, and as such have their grievances.  Vitros keenly feel their shortened lifespans, and the disdain many in uteros have for them as products rather than people.  There are also persistent rumours that Vitro Programme scientists have developed a serum to counteract the accelerated Vitro aging process but do not provide this to Vitros because it decreases combat capabilities.  As a result of these factors, and other issues besides, there have been sporadic Vitro uprisings.   This is the reason Vitros are no longer organized into formations larger than infantry platoons – the heavier weapons remain under control of in utero units.

Vitros are genetically human but their hair follicles do not grow hair unless artificially stimulated and both genders are sterile although they can be sexually active.  Both males and females serve in Vitro platoons in about equal numbers.  Occasionally, an especially aggrieved Vitro will escape the facility and go renegade, and these Vitros are especially dangerous – they will sometimes join bands of alien mercenaries, but just as often will attempt to pass as an in utero to infiltrate the Vitro Programme to seek out the rumoured life enhancement serum.

Two infantry squads of Vitros are now available at our webstore – they were sculpted by PF.

Titanium Dropship - Not-Predators

"A pack of blooded hunters led by Nta'Mek-Ta (The Silent Stalker in Yautja language). These figures are part of a larger Aliens Vs Predator project which wil eventually will have the Corporation, Marines,  Aliens and of course the Predators which will probably have a few more hunter packs.

Miniatures are all Khurasan apart from the Yautja hunting falcon which I sculpted myself. Didn't get the ship finished in time but it will do as background for the pics."
