Ion Age Taranis Tracked Main Battle Tank Variants and Parts

So today we are combining two posts from the Ion Age blog into one. Gavin and crew put up the main post about the parts that go into each variant of the Taranis and then a follow up showing the assembled models. I have attached the assembled pics to the parts coverage for simplicity sake.

I think you will all agree that this new armor system drops a giant mass of awesome vehicular goodness on the gaming seen...

Welcome to the variants and parts article for the IAF100 Taranis Tracked Main Battle Tank. While another article will tell you about the mighty Taranis in the universe of The Ion Age this time around we are all about the physical 15mm scale models themselves. All of the pieces with scale and then all of the pieces together that show what you get with each variant when you receive a Taranis kit. A super cool vehicle designed by Bob Naismith and now in the finest resin!

Brigade Models shows off fancy new infantry sculpts!

From: http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/Blog/2015/03/pbi/

Brigade Models is showing off some awesome new infantry sculpted by Martin Baker:

Salute 2015 is now about five-and-a-half weeks away. Loads of time, aeons. That said, the show edition of Miniature Wargames has just dropped through the letterbox which reminds us that we’re getting ever closer. We’ve been planning our show releases since before Xmas, although as always we’ll be panicking up to the last minute I’m sure ! It’s time to start previewing them, which we’ll do over the coming 3-4 weeks.

The first batch of masters has arrived ready for moulding – and we have to admit to being quite excited by them. Although we have a few packs of figures in our 15mm range (some lovely PF aliens and bounty hunters, our Power Armour and some very useful tank crew) we don’t have any straightforward, ground-pounder infantry. So we’ve got together with Martin Baker and he’s sculpted us some really excellent figures, based around some 3D designed and printed weapons. These are straight out of the package that came in the post this morning, and will be off for moulding tomorrow so I haven’t had long to get them photographed. Click on the photos for larger versions if you’d like to see more.

As you can see we have a number of infantry poses, plus command, support weapons (SAW, grenade launcher and rocket launcher), snipers and heavy weapons crewmen. The gunners will be paired up with tripod mounted versions of our pintel weapons (unfortunately I didn’t have any to hand when I took the photos). They will be sold in packs of eight figures (or equivalent), although we haven’t finalised the exact contents just yet. Having these available will also allow us to create platoon packs of APCs with crew and infantry and we’ll also create complete army packs of tanks, APCs, infantry and support vehicles.

Check out more previews on their website!

Fantastic Terrain

Amazing New Fantasy Human Buildings from 15mm.co.uk

There are very few miniatures that get released that truly take my breath away and even fewer terrain items, but 15mm.co.uk's upcoming Hordes of Buildings line is one of them.

Promising to be an amazing series of releases, this first installment of structures brings to gamers five human buildings with a decidedly fantastic bent. These are not just regular old medieval buildings. Each of the five new buildings is bubbling with faerie tale charm. Hovels in two sizes and houses in three, it's almost as if we are perfectly poised for a witch, a hidden princess or the dark streets of some village, stalked by wraiths or the thieves of the guild.

Loud Ninja Games - Upcoming Releases and New Ranges

Hey all,

Guess what time it is?

It's time for Loud Ninja Games to get rolling.

Due to release Monday, February 2, 2015, are RAP13, 14, and 15 will see the start of two new ranges Alien Encounters #1 (RAP13) and my wild and crazy Wasteland (RAP14 & 15).

RAP13 Alien Encounters #1

RAP14 Wasteland Mutants

RAP15 Super Mutants

Alien Encounters will be a sort of grab bag of science fiction one-offs and small encounter groups geared toward collecting and role-playing but certainly not outside the realm of use for more traditional wargaming.

The Wasteland range will be just about everything I can imagine to fill a blasted, mutated, violent future. Mutants, savages, renegade, monsters, even some heroes.

Look for these in the Loud Ninja Games store at 15mm.co.uk come Monday, February 2, 2015.

Previews: Armies Army - Reinforcements coming soon!

New previews and news from Armies Army:

Hello everybody :)
Before the update, Id like to thank all the people whom have supported me with the opening of my webstore. Thankfully everything has gone smoothly, yet Ive still some things that need look at and I'm always keen on improving. If you do have any ideas, don't hesitate to drop me an email or post a comment.
Anyhow to the update....
I really hoped that I would have had more items out for sale by now, however the web store was busier then I believed and I basically was learning the ropes. Then the dreaded 'work' word got in the way and is still doing so! This will be around for at least another three weeks, however Ill then be back to normal hours, which will give me time to start releasing my new stuff. I'm hesitant to put dates, due to changes, however I can put up a priority order as to what will be released :)
So here it is
Penal Troops ~(Shipping tonight)

BTR160  and variants (Two weeks time)

Rusk IMV Gaz Cartographa  (around 3 weeks)

Russian Empire Forces  (around 4 weeks)
The Russian Empire remains at civil war with the breakaway colonies of the RUSK forces. They  share many similarities to the RUSK forces, however have more advanced weaponry and vehicles compared to the rugged and dependable items designed of that built by the Buzzard Design Bureau.
They are fewer in number and lack the winning attitude of the RUSK'S  (so say the RUSK's) forces.
More news to follow , however here is a snifter of old
Enemy Unknown - Reinforcements  (around 4 weeks)
The 'Enemy Unknown'  increase in encounters are causing a rising tension with the World's Empires and Forces. Frequency of an encounter is increasing as is the number of Enemy forces. Unconfirmed rumors suggest several battles are taking place with heavier and heavier armaments involved. The Enemy Unknown are no longer scouting. They look like they are here to stay!
With that in mind, I will be releasing the next lines of EU figures. Ill have a HQ and heavier support weapons in two forms. Ill also have an assault squad with pistol and shield and couple of unusual beasts.
BTR 290 Variants  (around 6 weeks)
The BTR 290 used by several world's forces will be getting some additional support. The BTR 290 'Shilka' AAA and the BTR290 'Tunguska' AT . Other variants will follow.
Xiangyu WZ993 APC ( around 6-8 weeks)
The PLA Xiangyu APC has had several field issues, resulting in the withdrawal from the front lines. A redesign with additional hatches, turret variants, PLA infantry support drones . The redesign is almost complete and will be sent for mastering in the next two weeks. Several designers have been sent to the Penal Battalions to work off their crimes.
Unconfirmed rumors also suggest that several other projects are coming to fruition, however with a few unexpected items jumping the queue as my minions churn out the masters etc ( minions being me...)
So...lots to come, lots being planned, lots being designed, including brand new items and some forces are getting reinforcements to complete the line :)
Ill keep the usual places updated!
thanks
Keith

Khurasan Miniatures Releases Nova Respublik Drakon and Grifon vehicles and Previews the NF USMC infantry and Columbiad heavy droid!

By Harold

Khurasan Miniatures has released two new great Sci-Fi vehicle sets, each with both tank and grav options:

We are very pleased to release the next generation of armoured warfare for our 15mm Nova Respublik range, the Drakon tank and Grifon IFV.

Built to supplement the vast fleets of Red Banner tanks and Hedgehog IFVs, these vehicles represent a significant step forward in technology, matching that of federal vehicles.

The base tank, the Drakon-T, may be armed with either a plasma gun or a railgun and has a robot self defence system to protect it from both close assault and missiles.
Still experimental but fielded in one company, the Drakon-G is the first Nova vehicle to employ grav tech, copied from captured Federal vehicles.

To provide vital infantry support to the new tanks, the Grifon IFV, a development of the Drakon hull, can carry a full squad of infantry and has a rapid fire mini-railgun for anti-personnel or light anti-tank work. Against heavier targets it may have disposable missile boxes added to the flanks.

The experimental Grifon-G employs the same grav propulsion system as the Drakon-G and these vehicles support the Grav tanks in battle.

For all of the above vehicles, platoon sets are available at a discount. The models were designed by Steve Tyler. Our own dwartist provided the amazing paint jobs -- thanks David!
These are available now, comrades, at the link below.
http://khurasanminiatures.tripod.com/15mmscifi.html

And Khurasan has previewed these awesome upcoming kits, the Columbiad Heavy Droid and  NF USMC  Infantry with an incredible paint job:

Amazing job. You won't be able to make it out when the image is resized but Duff has actually painted the impression of a face on the visor, it's jawdropping.
He'll be painting the rest once he has some other jobs out of the way and then these and the Columbiad heavy droid will be released together.

Looking foward to seeing these awesome kits released soon!
