New SHM Released from 15mm.co.uk

This week we release four new miniatures into the SHM 15mm Range. New unique alien miniatures all sculpted by Eli Arndt. Eli has a large presence in the SHM Range which is open to any designer to submit miniatures both sci-fi and fantasy (contact us for details on sales@15mm.co.uk) to and it means you get figures that would otherwise probably never make it into your hands. SHMP24 Denizens of the Galaxy IV

This value pack contains ten white metal 15mm scale miniatures and offers a saving over single miniature purchase. A random but even and fair mix of the following miniatures: SHM84 Phase 2 Biomorph, SHM85 Stovan Servitor, SHM86 Sand Dipper and SHM87 Thorn Crawler. SHM84 Phase 2 Biomorph

One 15mm scale white metal miniature. Gene Splicers have a lot to answer for and top of the list is the late 23rd century creation of Biomorphs. Assembled from the DNA of several species and speed grown in vats the Biomorphs were seeded into conflict zones where they could exist for years easily. Often sprouting faces and ever changing teeth and eyes Biomorphs can sneak up or even drop from ceilings with deadly intent. This is a large miniature about 30mm long follows up on SHM53 Biomorph. SHM85 Stovan Servitor

One 15mm scale white metal miniature. Stovan used to be a byword for peace and harmony but no longer. The entire Stovan race was fungal captured by the Kilthreen in a planet wide invasion turning them into servitors. These servitors were then sold to the highest bidder across the galactic plane. Large, solid and long lived a Stovan Servitor can be a real if tragic asset. This miniature is 25mm tall. SHM86 Sand Dipper

One 15mm scale white metal miniature. The Sand Dipper is a common sight on hot inner system planets across the core having been seeded by colonists centuries ago. It is a hard carapace creature expert in digging and with excellent night sight. This miniature is 10mm long. SHM87 Thorn Crawler

One 15mm scale white metal miniature. Do not be made unwary by the small size of the Thorn Crawler for it is a lethal predator. Virtually every cell in its body is poisonous to all known carbon based life. This has cost countless lives and generally Thorn Crawlers are shot when seen and then burned for even handling them can result in a fatal exposure to poison. This small miniature is 7mm tall. SHM Miniatures Range Reaches 100!

I am excited to help announce that the SHM miniatures line from 15mm.co.uk has now produced over 100 different figures since it first began in 2009 (Wow! Has it been that long?). Having extensively contributed my own work to this line, it tickles me to see it grow to this level. The SHM line has providing budding sculptors (like myself) and casual hobby sculptors a place to share their creations and is pretty much unique in the industry as far as I can tell. This range has given a home to my various alien civilians and scifi characters, including my Prange alien species, but it all started with the snaky fellow pictured above.

Prang and Skorath

New SHM Miniatures from 15mm.co.uk

So, this time I get to report something a bit more personal. Many of you may know that I submit a lot of sculpting work to 15mm.co.uk for inclusion in their SHM range and I am happy to announce another batch has hit release.

First of all, are a full host of new Prang sculpts. From a single figure sculpted at the dawn of my sculpting, I've expanded this alien species to include troopers, leaders, techs and heavy weapons troopers.

Along with these froggy fellows, I also sculpted the Skorath. Armored alien for hire, the Skorath will make an excellent mercenary, bounty hunter, bodyguard, etc.. Perhaps team him up with the Razak, Gizbin, and a Trandan to form the ultimate hit squad or galactic bail enforcement team?

SHM Alien Civilians, Kremlin Miniatures outage, RAFM Sale

15mm.Co.Uk has added four new alien civilians to the growing SHM Range. 

Sculpted by Dropship Horizon's own Eli Arndt, these are perfect additions to any bustling spaceport. What I enjoy most about figures like this is their versatility - they can be great background pieces or objectives in larger force-against-force games, specialty characters in small skirmish games, or characters/NPCs in tabletop role playing games. 

SHM Range - Starport Denizens III

From left to right, we have a Varlish Envoy (a good diplomat/clerical figure), a Nimuan Orator (ideal for a public speaker, singer, or even an alien news correspondent), a second Burgansian (complete with float disc), and a Tandapash musician. These figures are available in the new 8-figure blister Starport Denizens III, and each can be purchased as a single casting on the SHM Science Fiction page.

It was brought to our attention that Kremlin Miniatures experienced a brief web outage this week, and we received some questions about whether they were still in business. Well, I have good, bad, and more good news about them. First bit of good news... They are still operating, so we are still able to get our hands on the figures in that great little range. 

Cyberian Death Commandos

The bad news? Their casting machine is temporarily out of commission, so it will be a few months before they are able to start casting and shipping again. The second bit of good news? Russ was able to get the store back online, so you can once again see all the packs the entire 15mm Power Spike line. 

Rising Sun MANITOU

So send them an email if you're interested in ordering sometime in the near future... a few advance orders might help Kremlin become fully operational. I can always use a few more Rising Sun MANITOU - still one of my favorite 15mm mini-mech/landmate suits.

Quite a few 15mm Science Fiction wargamers were introduced to the scale through the original Traveller figures... and  many of us still use them as the basis of comparison for today's figures. It's no surprise - most of the old sculpts still hold up quite well today. RAFM did a great job arranging them into logical figure packs when they took over the range - very useful for grabbing tons of civilians, pirates, crewmen, etc. in a single purchase. 

So for fans of that range (I still love the old "bucket head" marines) - or anyone who just wants to see what the fuss is all about - RAFM is holding a 35% off sale through 31 August.
