The Introductory Offer freebies I received were a pack SG15-V4 Techs and crew, which suits an idea I am mulling over for a 'Company' outpost.


The 'Company' settlement has a group of 'Habi-shacks', a Company Bar/Grill (V15-Col1B), a Company store (V15-Col1A) and a variety of functional buildings based around GZG's Pre-fab Base Modules:

Office - Comms Module (V15-PBM3)
Manager's Office - Command Module (V15-PBM2)
Manager's Quarters - General Purpose Module (V15-PBM1)

If it's a small Company outpost, perhaps restrict the administrative and managerial overheads to just a Comms Module and Manager's Quarters. Larger Company outposts will have General Purpose Modules as workrooms/tech offices and perhaps an Extended Barracks (V15-PBM5) for tech or specialist personnel.

Carrying on the theme, I wonder if one of the new Critical Mass Games Protolene Ayame Predator Battlesuits - painted yellow, would make a good construction or engineering droid?


15mm.co.uk also have a lot of decent droids that can inexpensively populate the Company outpost with mechanical help...... but what if THEIR AI is corrupted or deliberately sabotaged! Humans being hunted by their own machines a la Westworld (1973). Great potential for a very different and fun scenario!

GZG: Prefab Base Module Set - Review

Unless you've been in a virtual Siberia over the past week, you'll be aware that GZG has released a lovely set of Prefab Base Modules (PBMs), click here.

Each of the buildings and accessory packs can be ordered separately of course, but Jon has once again been his usual good self and created a set which contains one of each of the building and accessory packs for only £32.00. A saving of £5.00 on the full price.

V15-PBMSET : Base Module Set contains the following:

V15-PBM4 Module with Air-Defence Cannon mount

The buildings come 'flatpack' and generally consist of 2 side panels, 2 end panels, roof and any additional kit for that particular variant.

You can see below the parts included in V15-PBM4 Module with Air-Defence Cannon mount


Laid on a cutting mat with a 1cm grid, you can see that the wall panels are 55mm long and 25mm tall. The end panels are 50mm wide. The double-length V15-PBM5 Extended Barracks Module , has two sets of side panels and two roof units.

Detail is crisp and well defined. Master Chef is of the opinion that we should clean them up, bung 'em together and paint them quickly and simply with black and 'rust' washes over the bare metal finish. Can't say I'm not tempted to do this either!

You can of course run the whole gamut of colour combos with them, with for example red or blue defining different module roles (Command, MediCentre etc.). You can also run riot with camo too. Take a look at this container photographed during the commute to work recently. Might provide some inspiration......


Even if you just purchase one or two of the Modules seperately, it's worth buying a pack of drums and/or pallets in addition. These will help give your Prefab that shabby, unloved but definitely lived in look.

GZG Prefab Base Modules

We have family staying. Like a magnet this is drawing other family members to our home, making us a hub of family affairs at the moment. Every evening is like that wretched TV show 'Come Dine With Me' - large gatherings, formal dinners, booze and late nights.

Our lives are not our own and I'm having to sneak away for a couple of minutes here and there for some peace and quiet amidst the noisy chatter of the internet.

On the plus side it meant someone was at home today to collect my GZG parcel. The Prefab Base Module Set, ordered Tuesday evening.


I don't know why, but I was expecting these to be resin. Instead they are all metal affairs, crisply moulded - little bit of flash, but nothing of note and I have to say, excellent value for money.

Looking forward to putting them together.

The Hadley Bar & Grill

I really like the look of the new Prefab Base Modules from GZG. So much so, they're only just released and I'm going to ask Jon to expand the set to inlcude a Bar/Diner.

PBM5, the 'Barrack' prefab would be terrific, with one or both sides having longer windows and at least one double door.

Finishing touches could include a sign (raised Neon moulding perhaps) and maybe some extra ventilation.

It would be the social centre and hub of any base or colony. A place where adventures begin or desperate last stands get played out.

Preview - GZG August Releases: Prefab Base and More

Jon at GZG has done us proud and will be releasing a whole series of Prefab Base Modules (PBMs) in 15mm this weekend.

The PBMs are easy to assemble from flat parts (basic module is roof plus 4 sides) - finished structure can be based or not, as desired, and is hollow so that a stand of figures
may be concealed inside!

Excellent stuff! There's huge conversion potential to allow us to create 15MM Sci fi advance military bases, scientific camps, outpost colonies etc. This new release fills a massive gap in 15mm Sci Fi and I wish Jon every success with them.
