15mm GZG NAC Trike Preview

This evening we have a couple of close up shots of GZG's latest NAC release - V15-75A All-terrain Trikes with NAC rider.

The bike frame/body is a robust single casting. The wheels and rider are separate. and fit securely.


With a change of rider and maybe an armed pillion passenger, I think it would make a great addition to any Outlaw Gang or Wasteland Warrior style of army. With only a little bit of work, you could transplant one of GZGs new Mohican Character Heads onto the rider.

GZG 15mm New Crusties!

There are two new packs of Crusties from Jon at GZG! If you thought the original pack of Crusties was good - you are in for a surprise! These are GREAT miniatures!

I'm delighted to preview these new packs of 15mm Crusties on Dropship Horizon! The poses are superb, seriously superb and far better than I've been able to capture with the camera. The detail is excellent but most of all, they have the distinct appearance and feel of alien combat troops. In the right combination, the figures from the Specialists pack above, look for all intents and purposes like an alien SWAT team!

GZG 15mm Sci Fi "Crusties" Rifle Pack 2

Once again with this 'Rifles' pack, the poses are very good. Overall. the poses and design of the Crusties match the recently resculpted New Israeli's 'realistic' style of posing.

17mm hoof to eye level, 20mm overall height

Like the original releases, these are larger than standard 15mm Terran troops. The 'officer' figure stands 19mm hoof to eye and 21-22mm overall, whihc helps excentuate their alienness. The other figures vary in height according to their pose.

These Crusties are miniatures suitable for a new decade of the C21st. GZG have drawn a new line in the sand with both the Crusties and last month's New Israeli releases!

GZG 15mm Character Heads

Jon at GZG has earned a BIG cigar for listening to my rant about the need for 15mm character heads just over a week ago here on Dropship Horizon.


I was absolutely gobsmacked when these unexpectedly dropped through the letterbox today. We'd chatted about the possibility and various head/sprue options last weekend. I hadn't expected anything before the new year!

What we have here in this release is a sprue of true character heads. These heads will allow you to personalise your WW2, Pulp, Modern and Sci Fi figures for 1-2-1 character skirmish games, RPGs, guncrawls etc with unique miniatures. There's a head compin on a cigar, snarling with crew cut, a Mohican and bandana. C'mon! You've got to have a least one SAW or Plasma gunner wearing a bandana on your guncrawl!


I felt the head chompin on cigar deserved to be seen in more detail. This serving USMC Colonel is a dead ringer for Sergeant Major Avery Johnson (HALO), and as you can see one of Jon's new 15mm character heads has caught the expression perfectly!

These character heads will not only personalise and breathe life into your 15mm figures. They will both create greater variation amongst the miniatures of your military units and extend the use of existing GZG or similar 'character' packs through a simple headswop, giving you distinctly different figures.

Jackal Helmet Concept

Looking forward to the release of Critical Mass Games' Protolenes in just over a week's time now. Have to admit I've been wracking my brain how to paint them to compliment the armour - I've got a couple of ideas whihc I'll share with you during the coming week.

On a side note, just had to share this photo of a Jackal gasmask/respirator helmet I stumbled across. Quite a mean looking piece of kit! N'est-ce pas?
