While I really like the models, 25pounds for a 15mm tank is ridiculous. You can get 28mm tanks for that price. I think they look great but at that price, I have to pass.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Mike. I respect your right of choice however I would like to point out that the retail release price of all IAF100 Tanks will be 20.00GBP each in October. During this pre-order offer we give superb value in that you get 5% to 15% off that release price on the tanks plus a pack or packs of Drones worth 5.00GBP per pack. Added to this you get the free monthly miniature and Reward Points on your account with us its a cracking set of offers.
DeleteSo a single tank at 19.00GBP plus a pack of drones worth 5.00GBP free. If you were a customer and used existing reward points you could take another 10% off of this as well so many Ion Age customers have taken this bundle at 17.10GBP already. And of course the saving are greater on the larger bundles.
Thanks.

What super-heavy 28mm tank could you get for that price?
DeleteI never said 28mm Super Heavy. Here are a few examples that are much larger for about the same price.

Too each, their own. I really like them but the price is a deal breaker.
Mike, please note that the tank is quite large. The figures in the pictures are larger than human-sized 15mm miniatures making the Taranis quite a large model indeed.
DeleteThey are huge tanks and comparable in price to other behemoth vehicles in 15mm.
ReplyDeleteCMG's Warmonger, £11
DeleteCMG Dragamaa Tank, £12
Khurasan Siler, $18
Khurasan Advanced Grav Tank, $19
Ainsty Blower, £8 (you can get four for £30)
I could go on...
Don't see the price similarity to be honest, but I still like this model. But let's not kid ourselves, it's at the top of the 15mm price point even with accumulated discounts, and it has a pea shooter that I'd want to replace with a new barrel.

While it does rest at the high end of the price spectrum, I feel it is more realistically priced. I wonder how some companies manage to make any money on their vehicles. I'd say it's fair to say that the Taranis is likely priced realistically as is ClearHorizon's Apocalypse tank.
ReplyDeleteI suppose the market shall speak more true than any discussion between two individuals on this blog :)
At any rate, thanks commenting and the discussion. We need that here and I welcome any of it as long as it is fair and polite.
Yeah, this thing is huge. The pic where it's next to the Adder is pretty telling. I think the pics where it's with the running drones are a bit deceptive, as those are obviously larger than a 15 mm humanoid. I don't think it's overpriced, although at the moment it is, alas, beyond my budget... A pity, as one of these and an Apocalypse would look nice in my display case :/
