Basing Continues.... Warbases.co.uk

.
We've recieved a new stack of 2mm round bases from ebay seller MMurray6670 a GREAT bloke to do business with. Check out Martin's website Warbases.co.uk for details of his square, round, hex and polygon bases, movement trays et al......

We usually use 40mm bases for teams of 3-4 figures. Here are some of the Chef's GZG 15mm 'classic' New Israelis with a Critical Mass Games' Merc3 Recon Drone - which will be available on the 21st December! The Drone will get another coat of ink and have the details picked out in colour in time for the ground cover - Vallejo Black Lava paste - to arrive from Maelstrom Games.

Cheers

  1. Looks good. There is also Litko Aerosystems who do some fine work with laser cut bases of ultra-strong MDF.

  2. Likto are great, bust cost a fortune to ship over the pond. I get hit by an £8 handling charge every time I order from them, and for get it's comming every time....

  3. True enough. I'd face a similar expense ordering from the UK, I imagine.

  4. Last couple of base sets I've had came from Warbases. He cut me specific hex and squares sizes and even did a deal on 30cm * 30cm bases

Only point to know is with them being laser cut the edges are burnt and can lead to paint flaking or marks all over your pants (not that I did the latter)! Just rub first with sandpaper or a cloth.

  5. I don't think litko does any MDF bases - they use laser-cut plywood. Gale force 9 does do MDF, and are much cheaper AND faster than litko in my experience. I've moved over to using GF9.

  6. On a mostly unrelated topic, am i the only one who finds the use of different colored text in dropshiphorizon's posts really annoying? It makes the text harder to read (especialy thru Google Reader) and makes it less obvious which text is an actual link and which is just randomly colored.

  7. Thanks Eric, point taken - it's not randomly coloured - but it makes it easier on me if I just leave everything plain white!
