Khurasan to Temporarily Suspend Operations

As of June 20th the familiar Khurasan Miniatures webpage has been temporarily 'turned-off' by the owner. Anyone looking to buy or browse the Khurasan website will find a message, posted in bold red letters, stating in part:

"Due to circumstances beyond my control, I will have to temporarily suspend operations of Khurasan Miniatures. Don't worry, we will be back....Thanks to all our loyal friends and customers, and we will definitely be back in time. I am hoping for Fall of 2011 if not sooner. Bye for now, but not for good."

Khurasan will process all outstanding orders, but no further orders will be accepted.

We all wish the best for Jon. His broad selection of 15mm minis are an important resource for many gamers playing an incredible variety of periods and genres.

I am eagerly looking forward to the day that Khurasan is again accepting orders. In the meantime, I'll just keep saving up for that 'special sci-fi zombie project' order.

  2. I really hated to see this...I went to his website about 20 minutes ago to check something out...and of course saw the message.

I do hope things work out(personally and for his company), he has an AWESOME Sc-Fi line and I'm glad I ordered when I did!

I do truly hope this is only temporary!

    Thanks!
    Brian

  5. Personally, I remain highly confident that I'll get to place my big, big Khurasan order.
I'll be painting my Khurasan Zombies 'Spacejacker Style'!

  6. I wish him luck & speed in whatever life is throwing at him, and a safe return to the store's doors opening back up, because I have about 3 different projects all wanting many many minis.

  7. Sad news, I hope life isn't to hard for him ATM and that he recovers soon.
I never managed to order but I hope to do so in the future.
I wish that it will all work out for the best for him and for his company.

  8. Quite a shock indeed! I hope it's nothing too serious.

Hmm... this really puts a stop to my Aliens project. I suppose it'll have to wait until Khurasan's great comeback this fall. :)

  9. Damn. Wishing him all the best, whatever his reasons are.

  10. Actually Martin I may put up a limited store with a small selection of models in the next few weeks. They would have to be items I can just get from the caster and mail straight on, however. One of those will probably be space demons, but sold in 12s so that one spin goes in the bag and then on to the customer.

Thanks very much to all of the kind words. I have something I'm going to have to grapple with over the next few months, and as at present fulfilling orders, working on inventory and with sculptors and casters takes essentially all of my free time, time I won't have for a while longer. Better to close down than take orders that will take weeks/months to fulfill, to be honest there's a bit too much of that as it is.

    All the best
    Jon

  15. Oh noes! I've been ordering them much faster than I get around to painting them; I've really liked the look of absolutely everything they've been releasing!

If Jon is around this thread again: best of luck with whatever is happening, there are a lot of people out here who appreciate what you do for us (if you hadn't figured that out already).

  16. I hope when Jon re-opens, all the same figs are available.

I have not bot any 15mm figs yet, but over the last year thanks to Dropship Horizon I checked out 10 vendors and a majority of the figs on my "to buy" list were from Jon's site.

I'll definitely be putting in an order when it goes back online.

  17. Jon,
I sincerely hope everything works out for the best. You concentrate on whatever needs be done to resolve the situation/issue. All of us 15mm Khurasan Miniatures fanatics will be here when you re-open(just be aware, you will have a deluge of orders when you do)

Best Wishes from All of Us at DROPSHIP HORIZON

  18. Glad to hear that a small selection of minis might be made available. I would definitely order a couple of space demon packs. :)

Looking forward to the grand re-opening later this year.

  19. Agree with all of the above. Often find it challenging myself to find balance between work, family live and hobby, etc. If you happen to find it though, including time to open a small scale online service, without loosing track of work and family I'm sure it will create many happy faces beyond that.
