I'm delighted that these Grav Tanks appear to be selling well. Rob hopes to have the Scouts, APC's, IFV's, plus various additional models available for sale in a couple of weeks.

More info about the range can be found on the Topgun website. Additional photos of the "clean-hulled" models will be posted there soon:

  1. What do you think? Scribe your own panel lines, use plasticard.

  2. I was about to ask something similar. The scribing would depend on the characteristics of the resin. You might get away with simply painting panels lines if you want them. You could always argue that there are panels underneither a coating of laser/heat resistent ceramic pasting that fills in the grooves :)

  3. You can either do that, if desired, or we have a set of thin, curved resin stripes for the hull and turret, that can be used for additional detailing.

You just glue them onto the sides of the vehicles. These have scribed panel lines, which look like the paper mock up on our Type 8 Mortar/Point Defense vehicle shown on our website:

They can represent either ablative armor, or peripheral sensors, or anything else you can dream up as well.

    I hope that helps.

  5. I must applaud Rob @ Topgun for responding to we Traveller fans and offering the clean hulls.

Awesome stuff right out of the sourcebooks.

Now we need some Zhodani tanks ;)

  6. I forgot to mention, since I have done so on other posts, that the reason they are so smooth is they are cast from titanium, in a roto-molding process, similar to that used for plastic kayaks.

This is done in space on giant military factory ships, to make production easier, and less costly, since the titanium is mined from asteroids.

The process makes them seamless, thus enhancing their hull strength. They are then treated to a rapid cooling process, and heat-forging regime to further harden their hulls into a very strong titanium-crystalline structure. This is very similar to that used when forging samurai swords centuries ago.

The result is armor of unparalled strength, suitable for top of the line Grav Armor units in the universe.

    Hope that helps.

    Best regards,
