New Landing Pad Terrain Preview

New Hab Accessory for The Ion Age

Those crazy productive, madmen at The Ion Age have sneaked a peak of an upcoming new addition for their modular hab dome terrain. This time around it's a light duty landing pad with an anti-air weapons mount.

Personally, I love the design and details of this add-on. It's got a very Space Opera vibe to it with all kinds of details and gubbens sculpted on it. The weapons available for the landing pad are also suitable for mounting on the hab domes too.

These are slated for release March 6th, 2014 with more details then. For now, head HERE to read more.

Titanium Dropship 2014 - Sponsor - Ground Zero Games

Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached cruising altitude and will be turning down the cabin lights. This is for your comfort and to enhance the appearance of your flight attendant.

Jon from Ground Zero Games sure doesn't need any more introduction to this crowd, so let's go to the meat of it without further ado!

First thing first, Jon, I'm sure everyone is eagerly waiting to know what you'll be offering for prize for the Titanium Dropship 2014 painting competition!

Well, the main part of our prize will be one of our 15mm Infantry Starter Force packs - they retail at 36.00 GBP (inc VAT) but include around 42.00 to 45.00 GBP worth of product.

Typically one of these packs contains around 64 infantry, 4-6 heavy weapons and crew teams, and some grav or wheeled bikes and/or light combat vehicles or walkers (depending on which force is chosen). The winner of the prize will be able to choose their pack from any one of the following forces: NAC (New Anglian Confederation), NI (New Israeli), UNSC/L (UNSC Light Infantry), UNSC/H (UNSC Marines in Hardsuits) or, if they prefer an alien force, our ever-popular "Crusties" which includes 4 combat walkers in the pack! You can see the lists of the exact contents of each pack option on our store. Note that the UNSC/H option, which is not yet listed on our store, is very similar in composition to the UNSC/L pack listed.

A couple figures from the Crusties range (which is one of the available
prize option), expertly painted dy Spacejacker from Tiny Solitary Soldiers.

In addition to the starter force deal I'll add in some sample packs of our very latest releases - whatever is out at the time of the contest end.

Something extra that I'd like to do is to give a special additional prize to the best entry in the contest that uses some of my (GZG) figures and/or vehicles! I'm not sure what this will be quite yet, probably a bundle of new release items, so if your entry includes some GZG minis then you might be in line for a special prize even if you're not one of the overall main prize winners!

Fireteam Andromeda AAR - By Podsy McPod

Fireteam Andromeda is available here: Wargame Vault for $16.43

This is an after action report of a recent game I had of Fireteam Andromeda with a gaming buddy and good friend Gary.

This was a pretty standard game of FA using one platoon each to a value of 1000 points.  The battle was over a mining complex.

Gary chose to play the Naga, a high tech army of space snakes from Critical Mass Games.  He chose a generic platoon which gave him access to the one vehicle unit he used of mini mechs counting as Battle Suits.  His force was made up as follows.  A field commander, 2 NCO's, 3 units of infantry each with their own support weapon and an attached weapon, 2 units of Vampirra power armour infantry, a unit of scouts with their own attached Grav transport and a unit of Mini Mech Battle suits.  The scouts, and power armour units are all good in assault.  The infantry squads pack a lot of punch with the extra weapons.  The mini mechs are armed with pulse cannons and also grenade launchers which are deadly to all at close range.

The Naga Deployment

I Represent the Xin..

Hey folks!

New month, new special mini from The Ion Age.

First off, let me apologize to you all and Gavin for not getting this posted earlier. The figure was released on Saturday and I have not been able to get it posted. So, what is this month's gem? Why it's the Xin Envoy!

The Xin envoy represents a new face in The Ion Age - a character from a place other than those previous featured. Whether or not this is a glimpse of things to come, Gavin isn't saying just yet. All I know is this figure is pretty badass and has a lot of cool character. Sam Croes did a great job of stuffing a ton of character and detail into this figure.

Besides being a Xin Envoy he'll make a cool noble, space knight, crime boss, or anything you can imagine that requires a robe and attitude. A definite must have!

He's available free with any Ion Age order. You can also purchase him on his own or buy extras if you have need. Available through the month of February.
