Dropship Xmas Pressie: Winners!

.
Our thanks to everyone for taking part in the Dropship Xmas Pressie and entering the spirit of the competition!

Over to Heather........

"I was particularly impressed by the economy of the suggestions. This is especially pleasing as I spent an obscene amount of money on a Mulberry handbag last week. It took me 24 hours to pluck up the courage to confess to it's purchase. But what can I say, it is iconic and I would have my ashes put in it. That may, of course, be sooner rather than later if Mr H has his way! So, on with the competition.......and the winner is......Phil Curran.

Congratulations Phil, you came out on top by mystically knowing that my most favourite sci-fi genre is the Alien movies and that's in my own right, not as the patient Gaming Widow of 20 years! The vehicles can also be painted individually and used separately. This means Mark won't be squirrelling himself away creating a business case and outline project plan before he even lifts a brush!

A close second is Jeff Racel. I've asked Mark to arrange a little something for you as runner up ;-)

I've threatened a Christmas address on this blog but should you miss it, or I end up in that handbag after all, let me wish you all the very best for the season, however you may chose to celebrate!"

  1. Okay Mark, I'm impressed. How is it you managed to hook up with one of the few women in the world who 'get' the Alien movies ? My wife (of 20 years) would rather have her toenails pulled out then watch any of the series ! You are blessed with a woman to cherish !

  2. No Ian. I'm blessed with a handbag to cherish apparently and a wife who owns it!

  3. I recall Heather's published forays in the Gauntlet. Eee, them were the days, even though we were too poor to afford a cup of tea

  4. Mark,

Just seen a 8 DVD box set in HMV - all the Alien films, all the Predator films and all the AvP films for a total of £17! Perfect present for Heather then!

P.S. Ok I'd die too if I bought them for my other half!

  5. I'm honoured to have been chosen. My other half doesn't like all that SF stuff. Sigh !!!

  6. Just noticed my name on the list for something as a runner up? No need to do that Mark, I saw the contest as something entertaining to do while looking at things I would like to have. Unfortunately my wife has decided I get most of the little metal men I need without here help so I never see gaming stuff for Christmas unless I buy it, wrap it and put it under the tree. Nice to see that Heather has a different attitude!
In regards to films, my wife has never seen much in the way of American SciFi films prior to moving to the US from Japan with the exception of at least one of the bad Star Trek films (not good). I then made the mistake of taking her with me to see The Phantom Menace, a very bad idea. Now she hates SciFi and if she sees me watching the SyFy (SciFi) Channel, she immediately wants the channel changed or the TV turned off. Sad state of affairs really, but she does like historical fiction and documentaries (she is a History Prof.), so at least I am safe on that count. Trying to make her watch anything with Aliens in the title would end VERY badly . . . . . .

  8. My wife likes SF and Fantasy but she's not as warm on gaming as she was when we met. I think she feels that I spend too much time on it and I may actually do that.
