Khurasan Miniatures: 15mm Kzinti/Felid Closeup

Khurasan Miniatures 15mm Felid/Kzinti

These are marvellous 15mm miniatures. Very finely detailed and full of character. These are the Vargr I wanted 20 years ago and you know what, in this case it's been worth the wait! In my opinion, the best Khurasan Miniatures have brought out to date and certainly amongst the best 15mm Sci Fi miniatures released this year.

  1. Hi Mark,

They look like great miniatures. Kudos to Khurasan for these. Do you mean Aslan, rather than Vargr, though? They look more feline than canine from what I can see. Actually, from these pics they appear to be very like the artwork in the old DGP Aslan and Solomani book, which is very good news. Perhaps some Dark Nebula inspired games could be in order. No tails I can see though. Maybe they could be Manx Aslan? :)

  2. Yeah, they need tails..though in 15mm...one wonders if they wouldn't just break off?

  3. They are Vargr to me as I always found the Aslan illustrations and Citadel's (now RAFM) Aslan too 'Lenny the Lion' for my tastes. I think they have a greater resemblence to Kzinti though, and in a straight up scrap between all three I know who I'd bet on.

Tails...well,these guys are military types - why can't their tails be docked?

    Cheers

    Or down their trousers?

Seriously, these figures look better and better! Is there a release date yet?

Shouldn't the LOLkitty caption be "Superglue! I haz nom!" ;)

  5. Kobold,

That's an interesting idea for aliens with tails. As long as they don't rely on them for balance, I could see docking them being some sort of severe warrior rite of passage.

  6. never thought of tailess aslan/vargr - but its a good point. presuming balance isnt an issue (and i presume manx cats suggest that it neednt be) and civilised hygene removes the fly factor, then tails are really a fashion item (though a latent body language factor would remain i suppose) - at whivh point the tail could feature in ritual - cf facial scarring / military tatooing in human cultures....

no need to make greenstuff tails!

  8. Considering they are armored, clipped, small paperclips is something I've used before. I just finished painting the ones I bought (my last frivolity for the year) & they look nice for Aslan. I painted one up for the person who plays a female Aslan pirate & she really liked too. By the way I like the picture with the cat, Gypsy, one of my females likes to pick up minis & walk around with them.
